Windshield Replacement
Did you know that a windshield can provide up to 30% of a vehicle’s structural strength? If your windshield is poorly installed or badly damaged, it can cause a number of issues for the driver and passengers within the vehicle.
The urethane adhesive that holds your windshield in place is an extra strengthened adhesive specifically made for the auto glass industry and when used properly can make a huge difference when involved in a crash. If the adhesive is not used correctly or the installation of the windshield is done poorly and in a rush, there can be chances of your windshield coming out of the frame if ever in a serious collision.
At Premier Auto Glass we take pride in our workmanship and do everything possible to ensure the job is completed to your liking and you leave here satisfied without any worries.
Windshields are made of two layers of glass and have a plastic lamination sandwiched between both layers which is designed to offer the highest level of safety in the event that you do get into a crash or your windshield is damaged in any way. The plastic lamination makes it to where your vehicle is still safe to operate if your top layer of glass was to crack.
Many people begin to worry once they notice a crack in their windshield and begin to question what is safe and what isn’t. Are carwashes ok? Will your windshield eventually explode? You are just as safe with a crack in your windshield as you were before it happened although we do recommend getting a replacement as soon as you can.
We are currently offering in-house recalibration services through our third-party company and do require that if recalibration is requested the vehicle must be left with us for a minimum of four hours to ensure enough time to complete the replacement and have our third party here to follow with recalibration.
A careful and proper windshield replacement on average takes between an hour to an hour and a half. This gives our technicians time to ensure that everything is completed to industry standard.
